Help I stuck in a loop and can't get out

Help..... I am in the swamp and have successfully paddled out to the gate where my other self is on the other side. I have received the two items from "the other Guybrush". But now when I try to talk to him I get stuck in a loop. Here is what happens. I press enter on "Talk to Guybrush". Me, on the outside of the gate, puts the stick in the water, stands up straight, and then nothing happens. He then bends down picks up the stick and quickly the two choice (talk to guybrush and open the gate appear) but I don't have time to chose one before the cycle repeats. I can get the loop to stop by pressing escape or F1.

 

I have also downloaded the update and installed it.

 

Help, I have just started playing the game after about a year's break and I am addicted to it and want to get playing again.

Maybe you need to reinstal the game. This happens a lot and it's usually because you drivers arent updated. Go to Start: Run: dxdiam to check your drivers.
