Guest HertogJan
Hey, I agree with you on this one, ArtifeX! Drain is indeed to powerfull, and can ruin the game. Yeah I can win from drainers, but it's more like a non-force match for me then and If I play on a force duel server, I want to use the force powers! Drain can be used constantly! I think drain is, in fact, the ONLY force power that can be used constantly! Lightning, grip, speed, absorb, protect etc. ALL run out, while drain can be used 'constantly'; that means that you're the only one who can use a force power, and use it again and again and nobody can counter it... But I have to say I DO like non-force duels! It's good to learn about the lightsaber, and see how good you are with it. After a while, I DO want to use my force powers again though! Triprotic-Acid
You know i hadn't come across this problem before..... I'm a light side jedi and heal with a combanation of throw/push/pull is enough for me. The most annoying thing i have found is when caught in a grip from behind, you go to turn to push, then they start to swing you about very, very fast. With a little amount of lag, it is almost imposible to counter (you miss with a push) tbh i haven't tried absorb that much so i don't know if it would counter it easily (can u start absorb once you are in the grip?) heal can be a little too powerfull, i have been able to be untouchable on a lot of servers because of it, having it heal at the rate of (lvl3) SP heal, would make things more intersting. Duels with NF are boring..... the best (imo) is Jedi Adept, which allow you to specialise in about 2 and a half force powers (if you go for drain and lightning/grip you can't get much else) which for a 4v4 TFFA makes for some very intersting strategies! tbh mind trick is pointless unless it's against n00bies, something else could b done to help it (for duels anyway) i think the force skills should work differntly in different game modes, FFA/TFFA/CTF/CTY/JM they are pretty much fine. Dueling is the only area where is it unbalanced (heal is far too easy to use, and get away with) and yes, in NF matches the inclusion lvl3 jump and throw would be great
D66
Well, THAT is how to properly express your opinions. Thank You. Hopefully Raven will one day fix the g_forcepowerdisable command for dedicated servers to allow Admins to cherry-pick the forcepowers enabled on a server. In it's current state, if you turn something off, you also turn off jump, no matter what. Which is usualy the 1 power Admins do NOT want to remove in most cases

Anyway, about the drain: make it start slow (like someone mentioned) and as longer you keep the other player in the line of fire, you will drain him faster. the first second you drain 25% of the current rate, the second 50% and after 2 seconds 100% of the current rate. That will take more skill to drain a opponent, and also gives the other player a chance to react. Drain would still HEAL at the same rate, but not drain force the same rate (otherwise, it could be really hard healing in 1on1 duels, compared to the light sides heal)
