Hi guys, im experiencing the same problem as you guys....

the thing is that the lockups and freezings appear as soon as I installed DX 8.1....

Im pretty sure the problem lies in a modification in directx or on nvidia dirvers... why´s that?

well, with a fresh install of win ME, I executed Dxdiag and on the display tab the 3 test were showing, direct3d, direct draw and agp texture acceleration.

But when I installed dx8.1 my AGP texture acceleration text disappeared. Making my AGP card a simple pci vid card... so I guess that all the freezing problems are this error

My question to you guys is has anybody experienced freezing running on an AGP card with dxdiag showing the 3 tests??

I am running Win2k with DirectX 8.1 and I do not have all 3 tests, however I do have the AGP Texture Enable/Disable button.

Man I do not know what's wrong with DXDiag, windowsXP and new nvidia drivers later than 23.11. Seems like all they do is disable the AGP Texture Acceleration on my computer.

I'm glad (or sorry) to hear that I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. I thought it had something to do with my motherboard, but I guess not. Phew.

I forgot to mention that my computer also crashes in Jedi Knight 2 even with the 23.11 drivers installed on WindowsXP and it shows all 3 enable/disable buttons.

If I may ask, what motherboard are you using?

My issues with the latest detonator drivers, etc, etc, seems to have gone. It appears to be as a direct result of going into the Setup of JK2 and turning off the GL Extensions. Haven't experienced a lock up in 3 days! WOO HOO! Try it if you haven't already!

My 3 test werent showing either... so i made a fresh install of winme, and now i have dx8 with the 3 test showing... so i guess that wasnt the thing that was causing the lock ups

BTW, Im using a Gigabyte 7vte+ Motherboard...

So, my only alternative now is to know if it is an opengl error?
