Joruus
For a client to use a specific skin or model or saber a server has to have the model, skin or saber installed. It falls under the same logic that you cannot play on a server running a map you do not have. You do not have the file, so thusly you cannot play. Its a simple case of the server is the data originator, not your client. Without the server having your saber file, you will only see the default yellow saber. Because that is what the server is running. I consistently download the best new skins and run them myself, but because most public servers do not run anything but the base game, they do me little or no good on my end. Now in some games, as long as you had the skin, and your friend had the skin, you two would see each other as that skin, even if the server didnt have it. But because of the way the Q3:TA server works, any files not native to the server are ignored (unless you have edited your main game pk3 files...then you'll be lucky if you can stay connected), so your skin/model choices will reflect what is availible on the server. And not whats availible on your harddrive.
UniKorn
Ah? Didn't know that. Thought that if both the players had the skin they still would be able to see it.
