OptusHome possible setup

Ahh, cable next week on my computer

Hope to jump straight in and host.

Now, from what I've figured out sofar, unfortunately Dedicated is out, on the fast plan so I can't go balistic.

What I can do I suspect is this.

Host an Ingame server, limit maxrate thing to 7000.

Let about 3 of my friends connect, possibly 4.

OptusHome doesn't cap download or upload, but whines and will possibly boot you if you go over 10 times the normal usage.

Now with that 7000 max I reckon I shouldn't go over 256 upload.

Download ain't a problem.

 

So I suppose if I did that what would I sit on at the end of it? about 200 meg upload and 200 download?

 

Any pitfalls I'm likely to hit that people know about would be good.

 

If I'm way off, feel free to say so.

And if none of you understand this then I gave it a go. I choose not dedicated because or the small amound of users, I'd rather control when the server is up so I know when its getting used, and only use the one computer, have a spare PII400 but haven't the space to setup it up nor the funds for a switch box.
