politovski Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 just been looking over the posts and have not seen anything on the subject. just wondering if jk2 will run on an intel 810 video adapter. dont have the money to buy a new card and jk2 and just wanted to know if it is feasible? ram and disk space are not really issues. thanks for any help.
Destructive Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 this from the readme: Graphics Card: 16 MB OpenGL compatible AGP or PCI 3D Hardware Accelerator required. 32 MB recommended. so i dont think so
Deetox187 Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 well it works on a 12mb voodoo2 so i wouldn't put too much into the requirements. But an intel 810 is only 8mb i believe, so even if you somehow did manage to get it to run i can guarentee it would run like total crap and would also look like total crap.
politovski Posted April 19, 2002 Author Posted April 19, 2002 hey, i used to play jkI on an old pentium 100 with an s3 built in video card, so i really don't care about mind shattering graphics. just like to be able to play. as for req's, well, alot of games weren't supposed to work on the old 100 but i could get them to play anyways. just propaganda to help sell more video hardware.
SlitherSly Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 I'm sure that the gaming and graphics card industries operate in a way which supports eachother, yet the minimum system requirements should be taken seriously. These requirements indicate the least level of PLAYABLE performance. Playabe for me is 40+ FPS and eye catching graphics. Usually the minimum system requirements will not allow you to achieve this, rather they will allow you to install the game and have it run fairly poorly, by my standards anyway. I'd recommend that you seriosuly consider an upgrade. My brother recently bought the components for an Athlon XP 1600 system for less than $900. It's an excellent investment and should last him for years. Now I need to upgrade my Athlon 750, it runs fine . . . but it's days are numbered.
politovski Posted April 20, 2002 Author Posted April 20, 2002 mmmmmmmmmmmm....... thank you for the input. i was just wondering about if it were possible on the cheap. don't have $1000 for a computer. and sure as hell wouldn't get a windows machine if i did have the money.
