Strange sound/lockup problem please help

i am runnin it on the following

 

Win XP Pro

1.2 ghz athlon tbird

786 mb of ram

Vision Tek Geforce3 ti 200

Sound blaster Live 5.1 X-Gamer

 

When ever i play the game there will spontaneously be a shrill high pitched sustained beep that occurs, and after 15-30 seconds the whole computer will lock up, al help is wanted and greatly appreciated
