Zolden Posted April 21, 2002 Share Posted April 21, 2002 I believe what people were referring to as impossible is making the COMPLETE lightsaber blade black(the whole part of it, wave, etc). Not just the core. I did just download it off jediknightii.net, and I'm gonna go check out your sabers out now. I havent been overly thrilled with the lightsabers released thusfar, and finally there is a dark saber... maybe it's just me being spoiled by JK since i used to always use my red saber with black core.... Aiee Posted April 21, 2002 Share Posted April 21, 2002 Haven't downloaded it yet, but it seems like all you did was reverse the blending mode in sabers.shader so the images that make up the saber are set to darken instead of brighten. Sheer curiosity: How does the saber trail react to this? I've had some funky things happen to saber trails before when I messed with shaders. Zolden Posted April 21, 2002 Share Posted April 21, 2002 Also - I tested them out on the lovely ladder map, and I discovered that they look awesome when standing still. Yet the problem remains with the saber trails. You darkened the initial glow of the outside of the saber, and the core is black... but the trails still glow very bright(the normal color). Which makes them look rather iffy when you get into a big saber battle, since the cores are black then the trails quite bright. You say you can make an all black saber? Trails and all? I'd like to see that. Personally I think it would look very menacing. Like a "death rod" of some sorts. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
