Master_Cobain
Hey all, Right here the problem, when trying to Run Jedi Knight II in multiplayer It just flashes the screen about a bit then comes up with the message Cannot load OpenGL sub system or somthing. The stupid this is it finds OpenGL quite correctly in single player mode! I spoke to my graphics card people and they said OpenGL should come with Windows... so thus I spoke to microsoft (no easy challenge!) and they told me to speak to the OpenGL people, who in turn told me to call the jedi Knight II helpline as they didn;t have a clue... this I have done and they just told me to call my graphics card company AARRRGGGHHH! Its a vicious circle! Heres my system specs incase that helps (and don't laugh i know its old!) PIII 500mhz, 192mb SD RAM, 64meg Herculer 3D Prhopet 4000XT Grahpics Card running Windows XP Professional.... and I think the rest of the system in irrelevant... Anyway, any help would be much appreciated as my phone bill is probably double what i payed for the game trying to fix this Cheers guys,

scottws
I'd try reinstalling my videocard drivers, and if that doesn't work, I'd reinstall the game.
Obi-Balls
First of all, OpenGL is only behind DirectX in compatibility because of, you guessed it, BILL GATES. With Microsoft behind DirectX, their development of the DirectX API has outpaced OpenGL. Meanwhile, DirectX has become bloated, buggy with newer graphics cards, and it sucks system resources like a $2 ***** on two-for-Tuesday. As for your problem, I'm thinking it's your graphics card. Do you know what GPU it has (the core graphics processor). Hercules is mainly NVidia, or GeForce, and NVidia likes DirectX. I have an ATI (Radeon 8500), and it likes OpenGL. The only problem I've had with the card is DirectX games. I would suggest getting the absolute newest drivers for your graphics card, running Outcast in "Safe Mode Multiplayer". If it loads, reinstall the game (either by just over-installing (not deleting the game before reinstall) or by uninstalling Outcast and reinstalling (the way I would do it). Make sure you copy a backup of the "Saves" directory if you don't want to lose your savegames! Good luck.
