npc spawn question

Is there a way to exert more control over the npc spawn command? Right now all I can do is spawn an NPC where I am looking. I'd like to be able to spawn characters further away in order to set up larger Jedi v Reborn battles in Single Player.

 

Also, in looking at the asset file I see files for Jacen, Jaina, Kyo, shinya, Wedge and Yumi but get an error if I try to spawn them.

Is there a way to get them? Do they exist or are they place holders?
