Slow Game Load

Yikes! For some reason, the levels load REAL SLOW on my machine. Some levels like Bespin have taken up to 15 minutes to load! Game play is fine once the level's loaded, but I can't seem to figure out why it's loading so slow.

 

I'm running Win2K with a Voodoo 3 3000 (graphics are fine), I have a 40GB/7200 rpm eide drive and have 768 MB of memory on a P3-450.

 

Can anyone lend any insight on why load times are so slow? Or better yet, is there some cfg file that I can edit to set more performant parameters?
