Vorlagen
Hello. I have a Netgear RP114 Router, and I cannot get Jedi Knight to work. Has anyone else been able to get this to work? If not, what routeres are you guys using, so I can upgrade my router. Thanks. P.S. I have tried virtually everything, from every topic, to get a ded server up, but to no avail. This isn't a troubleshooting topic, but hopefully a list of workable routers so that people can get on the net.

jaustin1
I can't help with your problem, but I can list a router that definitely works: Linksys BEFSR11 (and therefore, I assume the 4-port version of the same router, BEFSR41, works just as well)
Wayner
I agree, please post your router brand & model # if you have a working Dedicated server running. I have a Linksys 4 port and I can't get it to work for beans... CL_Parse errors up the wazzooo for clients connecting. I have tried all different suggestions posted here on the board to no avail.. I am looking to change my router if someone can provide some working alternatives...
Skidley
I have the Linksys BEFSR41 router and I get that error once in while but not enough to annoy me. I have recently updated (this morning) to the new firmware that was released last month (I believe the 11th of march was the date). Before that I was using the one just before that one which was dated on the 7th of March I believe. I have not been able to play over the last couple of days due to work but I will post later hopefully on any differences. I am not sure if Linksys knows of any problems with the router on any Q3 engine driven games. It seems from all the posts that I have read that it is a common occurance. Maybe all the Linksys owners should start emailing them with any known issues. I know the router is very popular and maybe if everyone complains enough about the firmware something may get done. jaustin1
First, there ARE known problems with the latest firmware for the Linksys routers. It mostly just affects FTP servers; but the problem seems to be that it renews the DHCP more frequently than it should. Still, I am using it without problems. I used to get the CL_Parse errors until I got everything set up correctly. FIRST: I ONLY have port 28070 (UDP) forwarded to my server. SECOND: Here's my config file. (I've *'d out the password.) There are probably unnecessary entries in here (obviously everything with // in front of it), but everything works. My server is always full of people and I can always connect using the local IP. I've also reserved a spot for myself to get on whenever I like, even if the server is "full". My server config: // Server Config seta sv_hostname "Absolute Maulage CTF/Jedi Master" seta g_motd "Windows 2000 Server PIII 800 Mhz 512MB RAM on Austin Road Runner" seta rconPassword "****" seta net_port "28070" sv_privatePassword "****" sv_privateClients "2" // 2 - Jedi Master // 3 - *** // 4 - *** // 5 - Team FFA // 7 - CTF // 8 - CTY seta g_gametype "7" // seta sv_zone "CTF" seta sv_master1 "masterjk2.ravensoft.com" // seta sv_master2 "master.gamespy.com:27900" seta g_allowvote "1" seta sv_pure "1" seta sv_maxclients "10" seta g_inactivity "0" seta sv_maxRate "8000" seta sv_maxPing "300" seta g_allowvote "1" seta timelimit "30" seta capturelimit "8" seta g_autoMapCycle "1" seta bot_minplayers "3" //seta seta g_friendlyFire "0" //seta sv_floodProtect "1" //seta g_warmup "15" //seta g_teamForceBalance "1" //seta sv_cheats "0" //seta g_logSync "0 1" //seta g_log "games.log" //seta g_forcepowerdisable "0" // Enable IP banning seta g_filterban "1" // seta g_banIPs "" // Maps rotationcycle //seta d1 "map ctf_bespin ; seta nextmap vstr d2" //seta d2 "map ctf_imperial ; seta nextmap vstr d3" //seta d3 "map ctf_ns_streets ; seta nextmap vstr d4" //seta d4 "map ctf_yavin ; seta nextmap vstr d1" //seta d1 "map ffa_bespin ; seta nextmap vstr d2" //seta d2 "map ffa_deathstar ; seta nextmap vstr d3" //seta d3 "map ffa_imperial ; seta nextmap vstr d4" //seta d4 "map ffa_ns_hideout ; seta nextmap vstr d5" //seta d5 "map ffa_ns_streets ; seta nextmap vstr d6" //seta d6 "map ffa_raven ; seta nextmap vstr d7" //seta d7 "map ffa_yavin ; seta nextmap vstr d1" vstr d1
