engineerdude
In Half-Life you could manually edit the config file so that you wouldn't have to manually type in everything else once the game started. Can I do this with JK2 and which file do I edit. If I want to configure the cheats (devmapall) and allow realistic saber combat where do I put these lines???? ACGe0rge
to input codes, open the console with [shift] + [~]. This will give you an area to type the codes. AS for the config files, there are two. jk2config.cfg and jk2mpconfig.cfg The first is for SP and the second if for MP. If I knew what config settings you were having trouble with I might have a better tip for you than editing these files.
G-Ninja
here's how to do it: first, start the game, (not in safe mode) and at this point you'll have to do what you normally do - set everything up by hand, using the console. Then exit the game - go to your GameData/Base directory. Make a copy of the file called jk2config.cfg (or jk2mpconfig.cfg, depending on whether you want this for MP or not). Rename this copied file autoexec.cfg. Now all your settings will be loaded automatically every time you start the game. Now any time you want to edit a setting, just open up your autoexec.cfg, and change the settings. Either that or you change them in game and just follow this whole process exactly again. Hope that helped, G-Ninja
G-Ninja
PS it will be a little different for the cheats etc. Open up the autoexec.cfg file you created, and just type the lines you would normally type into the console eg. bind x devmapall etc etc etc doesn't matter whereabouts you put these, as long as you take a new line for each command.
