eggyokio
Anyone know of a import/export plugin for Maya?
ThriKreen
You can export meshes to and from 3D Studio Max and Maya using the OBJ plugins that you can find on the net. As far as I know, there are no freely available convertors to handle animation, other than the package PolyTrans available from http://www.okino.com. But from what I gather from looking at the SDK, you can't make custom animations just yet anyway, currently they all use the same _humanoid skeleton for animations. So we're stuck just making and skinning the meshes in Maya for the time being. Which kinda sucks since I want to make a Mara Jade model and the skeleton probably doesn't have bones to handle flowing hair. =)
Skellington
We can't. DO. custom. SKELETONS. yet?! Aw, man....my excitement is starting to wear off a little bit...I was all set to start an AT-AT an everything Oh, and I grabbed an exporter for Maya from Polycount...haven't tried it yet, so I'm not sure if it works with v4 or not. Vesentac
That export tool you grabbed from polycount I think only works with v3.. you're SOL with v4 atm......
