Scum
I was just thinking about the one single way in which UED would bring it head and shoulders above every other level editor: Brush creation. It's crap! You have to manually type in values to create a brush. You can't drag out a box like in every other editor. This slows down the process immensely. And forget about scaling, if you scale a brush you will soon find that this screws up 'mover' brushes, like door and lifts. And vertex editing, is it me or do the vertices behave really badly? You try and drag them around the grid and they won't move. Then you drag a little harder and they jump a mile across the map. Arg! Anyway, that's all. AmranX
You don't have to type in the values of the brush, just click the scaling tool (#10) you can then resize the build brush easily. And for vertex editing select a corner of the brush and hold down alt and just drag it.
Darth Draugmahl
Eh it's just different. Is started mapping in q2radient and when I went to make a map for Rune I was completely at a loss and hated UnrealEd because it was essentially the total opposite of what I was used to. They both have their pro's and con's I suppose.

Personally I thought that UnrealEd has the best user interface of all the editors I've tried. Just click and drag your way around the map. Its alot quicker than using the keyboard to get around like in most other editors.
MankaCat
Unrealed is much simpler to use (and more powerful imho) than all other editors out there plus subtractive editing makes a lot more sense to me than this additive bull****
Snakeone
yup, I agree. I've been editing for a long long time, and the UTED was always my most favorite. It had a great interface, the docking windows were great! Had the textures, scripts, sounds, everything, right there, and no squinting trying to read filenames of pics and their sizes. It crashed on occasion, just like any other ed I ever used, but hey, someone once said something that sunk in to my brain..S.O.S (save often stupid) hehe how many times did that ring home to me? lost count
Xeph
I loved UED. I don't know much about tech. aspects though, not sure if the engine can handle more, less or the same as the Q3A engine.
