very simple:

 

make ur brush. wherever the brush is will be water. as in HL, func_water.

 

texture the entire brush with a water texture. any water texture will do. just needs to be water, or liquid.

 

compile ur map, and run it.

Thanks, that was just what I was after... it takes too damn long to look through all these textures... specially with the loading...

 

Well at least I can muddle on now... just wait 'till I try a door :D
