ACGe0rge
First off, I would like to say that I have really enjoyed Jedi Outcast and consider it one of the best games I have ever played. Having said that, it is not without it's bugs and glitches that often plague games when first released. I have been fortunate in that the only real glitches I have experienced have been very minor. I have had the yellow sky problem with my GeForce 3 that many NVIDIA card users have had. I also have had a few minor bugs with muliplayer, but nothing that prevents me from playing. What concerns me is that many of the fixes posted on the Lucasarts support page, as wll as the the fixes posted here, dont always work. For example, I followed the advice about using the older NVIDIA drivers, yet they did not fix the yellow skies. I have also read quie a few posts on this forum about much more serious problems that other people have had. Sometimes these are resolved yet it seems some are not. I realize that analyzing all the problems customers are having with a product can take time. I am aware that PC software is often affected by hardware and operating system updates which can make bug fixes much more complicated. I am also aware that creating and testing a patch can take time to do properly. I am more than willing to wait for a patch that will properly fix as many problems as possible and dont wish for you to rush a patch that creates more problems than it fixes. With these things in consideration, I am willing to be patient for any patches that you have in the works. What upsets me is that there is no evidence that a patch is being worked on, or even considered. Most games I have purchased in the past, have donte a good job of posting updates on what they are working to fix, and when they expect their patch to be complete. This can put customers at ease since they know that there will be a solution to their problems, and the company cares enough about it's customers to keep them in the loop. Unfortunatelly, there has been no evidence of this from either Raven or Lucas Arts. I dont mean to accuse that either company lacks customer support. The Lucasarts.com support area is very detailed and is updated regularly. This is much apreciated by your customers. From what I understand, the phone support can be frustrating due to long wait times, but I have no first hand evidence of this. Also, this forum has proved a great resource for information of all sorts, yet most of the information comes from other players, not the developers. I have already made this long enough so I will sum up with what I want you to do. On the Jedi Outcast official site, there is a section for news. So far, it has mainly been about good reviews and hasn't changed for weeks. Something that might lessen the frustrations of your customers is if you posted patch information in that same news area. Just let us know you are aware of the problems and are taking an active role in fixing them. It would also help if an estimated time of patch completion would be posted so we could have an idea of when to look for it. This would be a great help to me, and many of the other frustrated customers you have. Again I would like to say how much I have enjoyed this game. Please dont spoil this wonderful product with poor customer support. Thank You.
