ive been a fan of this series since Dark Forces came out, but i have yet to find out one thing about kyles lightsaber in JK2...When Jedi knight ends, (and mysteries of the sith ends), kyle has the golden lightsaber that he took from yun when he fought serris in the origional jedi knight. Kyle vowed never to use the force again, turned in his lightsaber, bla bla bla...but if he ended both of the other games with the orange lightsaber, how did he come out with a blue lightsaber that luke was holding for him all this time...there was no record of any sort saying that he made his own saber, or he took someone elses, he just seems to end up with a blue saber...can someone make sense out of this for me??

Yes, Kyle had the orange lightsaber in JK.

But, then he started new training with Luke in the Yavin Temple for his new blue light saber.

He did that only because he felt so angry of Jan's death and wanted her back and have revenge.

In this case his Force vow was only broken to keep another one! :)

Yeah, but I think the point was that Jedi's aren't GIVEN their lightsabers, they have to make their own.

It's part of their training. (You get to know this by reading all of the books).

Kyle approached things differently by inheriting his Dad's. Then it was destroyed in JK, and he picked up one of the Dark Jedi's who he had bested in battle.

There's a break, then MOTS starts, and he does have a different saber at that time. I can only guess that in the interim that Kyle completed his training as a Jedi Knight and made his own saber.

So at the start of JKII, he's handed that saber over to Luke for safe-keeping and renounced the Force. Why is it a different colour now than it was at the end of MOTS? I dunno.

But I could put forth a theory...

Lightsabers are based on a focusing crystal, a heavy-duty power source, and some concentric rings that bottle the energy up to create the blade. Crystals can change over time, or when subjected to outside forces. It's possible that Saber colours could naturally change over time, without constant tweaking by the owner...

All of this conjecture really belongs in the Yoda's Swamp forum though...
