KandyFLip
Well, I've broken down and actually touched a 3D modelling progrm. I feel so dirty now After 3 whole days of work, I have something that resembles a head. Not sure where to go with giving it a body yet. But I have a head. Not supposed to be any specific character or anything. It's just a head. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/rbeem289869mi/face.jpg http://mywebpages.comcast.net/rbeem289869mi/face2.jpg http://mywebpages.comcast.net/rbeem289869mi/face3.jpg Ok... so a lot of the head came from the Gmax tutorial... but, I bastardized it quite a bit
CheshireKat
Well, it's a good start. But we really need to know what type of direction yoiu are heading to give any crits. Did you want human proportions? If not that's cool, but even a good alien design kind of follows the proportion guidlines to a certain extent. Especially ones with alot of human features as yours. So, just some propotion anvice: The eyes should be half way between the top of the head and the bottom. The nose half way between the eyes and chin. And the mouth half way between the nose atn teh chin. Note: with aliens and such, there's defenatly room to take some liberty's, but I'm basing this off of what I see, and the creatures found in the Star Wars films. If you take a good look, they generaly follow this rule. And those that don't have a very strong skull base to them. The other thing I noticed, is that there looks to be an awful lot of faces thatcould be turned to smoothen things out. Could you post a Flat Shaded pic so I can have a look? KandyFLip
Thanks for the feedback Kat. I actually don't realy know what direction I'm going with it yet either. It will be a bipedal humanoid type thing. I think I'm gonna take the eyes out and try to smooth the sockets back over and just have them skinned anime style (that damn evil tutorial made me put the eyes in). That should get rid of some faces I'm at work right now so I can't make any shots. Also, I'm not up on all the lingo yet, so I'm not sure what you mean by a Flat Shaded pic?
