Muscle base?

You gotta start somewhere. There's a ton of tutorials linked from jediknightii.net, polycount.com, and various other sites. Anatomy books are a perfect resource, as are bodybuilding magazines (if you can stand the looks you'll get buying them). I'm working on a few tutorials of my own as well.

Start with a 50% grey base and use the burn tool to outline basic muscle shapes. Then use the dodge tool to create highlights, and back to the brun tool to add depth to the shadows. It's really not that difficult. Since you're working from source material, it's more of a technical skill than an artistic talent. Don't be intimidated, and don't be so quick to lift someone else's work. At least try.
