IRG_GhostBear74
I am pretty new that this but can someone tell me how to add models like Xwing, Tie Fighter and Tydirian Shuttle into the map? Do i have to extract the md3 files from the PK3 folder? If so where do i put it?
mapmaker
Yes, you have to extract the files, and just extract them to a new folder under the base folder.
IRG_GhostBear74
ok done. Then i added a MISC_Model. A red box appear and the Entity window appear. I click on Model and select the md3 and i get this error Unable to open the file "C:/program files/lucasarts/star wars jk ii jedi outcast/gamedata/base/md3/x_wing.md3" (Further errors from this file will be ignored during the rest of this edit session.) :-( what am i doing wrong? mapmaker
Alrighty, here's what you do: When you get that error message, click ok. Now, on the entities menu, there should be a filepath listed on the bottom of the menu, under 'value'. You have to backspace all the text that comes BEFORE the folder 'models', the one located under 'base'. Then press enter, and save your map. Now exit the entities menu and quit JK2Radiant, and start it back up. load your map and that red box should now be the model you selected. I hope that made sense, I'm not to good as explaining these kind of things. **IMPORTANT** Ok, I made a mistake when I said just extract the md3 files and put them under the base folder. You have to put them in a new folder under the 'models' folder, which is under the 'base' folder. Once you do that, follow the instructions above.**
IRG_GhostBear74
It works! Thanks!! I take it that then model is not solid and that i will have to make a colision box with the clip texture on it?
mapmaker
Yep, that's correct

Epimetheus
Perhaps lighting is making the ships black? When I first went on my editing rampage, I lost my patience and just unzipped all of assets0. It's mighty convenient if you have the space.
