Chopping limbs without getting an advantage in SP

I want to be able to cut people in half and stuff, but I've read that if you turn on g_saberrealisticcombat basicaly everything you touch gets chopped off, which gives you an advantage as if it was a cheat (well, it is). But I don't want any advantage, I just want to kill people in a fair, though slightly funnier way than normal, if you know what I mean. Is there any way I can do that?

You are in luck my friend.

There is a way to do it.

g_dismemberment "3"

g_dismemberprobabilities "0"

You wont ALWAYS slice a limb/head/torso off, but it will happen frequently, enough to not over do it.

This way you wont have to "cheat" by making the saber too vicious.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Are you sure that this wont give me any advantage at all?

I've been having trouble getting this tweak to work.

I bring down the console (~)

and type

HelpUsObi 1 (enter)

g_dismemberment 3 (enter)

g_dismemberprobabilities 0 (enter)

and nothing seems to change. Should I put quotes around those numbers, eg. "3"?

No need to type helpusobi 1, as the other commands are not cheats.

After typing g_dismemberment 3,....

type g_dismemberment and it will tell you what it is set to

If you have them set to those settings that I explained, then you should be seeing dismemberment happening more frequently than before.

Also, you might want to make an autoexec.cfg file in your base directory that automaticaly loads those commands so you dont have to type them in each time you play.

If you need help with that, I can give you my file and you can edit it as you see fit.

Thank you, Usurper! I'll give this a try when I get home. The autoexec.cfg is just a text file, right? I think I've seen it mentioned before. Is the syntax:

seta g_dismemberment 3

and so on? I.e., all commands are "seta [console command]".

Three other questions:

Which game folder does it go in?

Does the file require any special text preceding or following the commands?

Does it affect MP and SP both, or just SP?

Arigato Gozaimasu! I finally got it to work. I didn't add anything to an existing .cfg file, though -- just made a new file called autoexec.cfg, added the two lines, and it seems to work every time.

The one downside is that top-notch bisections, decapitations, and amputations are now sufficiently infrequent that often I get a slo-mo image of my 'saber fatally cutting through the midsection of a reborn without leaving even a mark on said midsection. There's a small, whiny corner of my brain (ok, it's really big and whiny) that really, really wants to see those guys' backsides secede from their topsides whenever that happens.

On the other hand, it's nice knowing I'm not cheating (guess I'm not cut out for the Sithly life).

Thanks again!
