Antilles
I don't how much of you go to Holonet news, which is a web site that reports Republic's news in the time before EP2... But see what I had found here: http://www.holonetnews.com/53/news/13425_1.html Go and see the last line......it's Qu Rhan!!!
Wes Janson SMR
This is the same dude from JK?
Digital_Ronin
Either that or a relative of his. The name "Rahn" sure is correct, and the Rahn from JK was black, too. *errrrh* sorry when I'm thickheaded or something, but is Samuel L. Jackson supposed to be 'Rahn' in Episode 1? I didn't pay attention when he was introduced. Oh, and for anyone who's interested, here is the voice/actor cast for JK1: Dan Bloom (Bounty Hunter 1) Jason Court (Kyle Katarn) Denny Delk (Voice of Pic, Voice of 8t88) Bennett Gilory (Qu Rahn) Dylan Haggerty (Bounty Hunter 2) Angela Harry (Jan Ors) Morgan Hunter (Maw) Roger L. Jackson (Computer Voice) (talk about coincidence... ) Christopher Neame (Jerec) Rafer Weigel (Yun) Valerie Wildman (Sariss) Time Winters (Boc) Jacob Witkin (Morgan Katarn) Digital_Ronin
RahnDelSol
I would venture to say that yes, it is the same guy from JK1. It would be entirely possible, as this story seems to be written somewhere around the Episode 1-2 timeline, and Rahn wasn't killed until JK1, which was sometime after RotJ. I even have a character named Qu Rahn in Asheron's Call
Reb Starblazer
Good find Antilles! Yes, I'm pretty sure this is the same Qu Rahn from Jedi Knight, the article says he is a Jedi Knight, possibly making him fairly young. Holonet News is supposed to be right before the events of Episode II, so I believe that the timing is right. It's nice to see that they are making a connection to the games, giving credit to the story of Rahn. Oh, and Ronin, Samuel L. Jackson plays Jedi Master Mace Windu, a new(or old depending on your POV)character. He supposedly has a larger role in Episode II than he did in I. Wes Janson SMR
My god... Are the big boys of the movie business finally tipping their hats to their game brethren? I guess we'll just have to see May 16th...
Reb Starblazer
Hehe, guess we'll just have to wait and see Wes. While I highly doubt that we'll actually see Qu Rahn in Episode II, let alone have him named in it, it would be very cool. Besides, if there is one game series that movies (and Lucas) should acknowledge it'd be Dark Forces. Wouldn't it be sweet to see a movie following Kyle Katarn along his path to Jedi Knighthood? Also, I don't think Holonet News is run by any 'big boys of the movie industry', so don't count it as an official source. I may be wrong on this though. Wes Janson SMR
When I said "big boys", I was referring to Lucas and his evil minions.. Well...Maybe not evil. But you get the picture. ;-)

Nebelwerfer_
I saw the guy who played Qu Rahn in an airplane commercial. Just in case you didnt see it.
Nebelwerfer_
Oh, BTW, how could Qu Rahn have survived the jedi purge, yoda said to luke "when gone am I , the last of the jedi you will be".
Reb Starblazer
Yes, I know nebelwerfer. But sometimes it's fun to ignore canon, like when I'm playing the Dark Forces games:D Besides there may have been more Jedi that survived and Yoda didn't know about them. And, it's a good way of saying "Succeed you must." Telling me I'm the last of my kind and the only one who can stop them would motivate me pretty well. You never know, right? No flames please, just thought I'd add some more foolish commentary on the subject.
chrispcarter
he has a point, you can't talk about Jedi Knight and imply the use of Canon... after all... non-canon Jedi Knights still around when Yoda told Luke he was the last of the Jedi... Kam Soulsar, "King" Empatojayos Brand, Vima, Ood Bnar - and that's just off the top of my head from the Dark Empire series.
gonk-raider
eh, yoda was pretty old.. he couldnt sense everyone.. if they were on oppisit sides of the universe.. then it would be pretty hard for yoda to detect.. besides it not like qu wanted to be found im sure, he popped out of hte wood work after the old man and his robot died (vader)
gonk-raider
also.. yoda only knew of obiwan and him self surving the jedi purge.. there were alot of jedi out there who were hidden and stayed hidden before the events of the purge

Leagle
Vima was, by then, decrepid and weak in the force, Kam was a dark-sider and the others were both in hiding and not powerful enough. Luke had youth, the heretige & power and Obi-Wan (powerful but old) and Yoda to teach him. The difference between Obi-Wan & Yoda and the other hidden Jedi was that they were in hiding, and not as powerful, while Ben & Yoda were biding their time until Luke was older. In fact, I thinkone of the reasons Owen wanted Luke to stay another year was because Ben and him had decided he was not ready. Owen knew Obi-Wan would then train him. It is probable that Luke was supposed to be trained that year, but Owen argued with Obi-Wan for more time -he dosen't want Luke to be dragged in and wants to stall it as long as possible. That's my 2 cen... -50 quid!
Leagle
I mean, come on. Owen and Obi sure as hell aren't going to let him become an Imperial pilot. Owen sure as hell doesn't need Luke's help with the farm, and Obi-Wan sure as hell isn't going to let Owen stop Luke from becoming a Jedi. Owen sure as hell is going to put it off aslap!
