Playing JK2 on MP

i just wanted to know, what type of connection are you using to play games over the internet, in especial jk2, and the ping you're getting on it. the thing is i have a 56k connection, i'm planning on upgrade to adsl or cable connection, just wanted to know wich one will como more in handy. My ping normaly is of 250-350, with piks of 500(not counting when there is an interruption on the connection where the ping goes to 999)

I have cable, Connecting to the right servers on average, i can get a ping of about 15-25. More poeple join the game or i play at a peak time then it can go up to about 30-50.

I got ADSL, on a server with a max number of 16 i ping 44-50;)
