XxWinnaRxX
What custom saber setups would you have in real life? What would they look like, how would they handle? If i could, I'd have two sabers. I'd only use them one at a time. I probably wouldn't use a lightstaff, twin sabers, twin staffs, whatever. I personally never saw what was wrong with just a regular old saber, at least untill Darth Maul was so cool... But anyway, I'd have two sabers. The first would pretty much look like 2.5 feet of pvc pipe with a male threading on one end, all made of polished aluminum, with a three-foot blue-green blade sticking out of the uncapped end. I'd hold it mantis-style, and handle it like an Aikido-style short staff, which I conveniently happened to actually know how to use. The second would be exactly one foot of aluminum piping with female threading on the butt. It'd have a blue-purple blade that's also exactly three feet long. I could take the purple saber and screw it onto the blue-green saber, and voila - light-short staff + light katana = light karate staff. Anybody else have unusual saber designs turning around in their heads? Closing Notes:When I measure the blade, I'm referring to the white core part. I'm aware I contradicted myself when I said "I wouldn't have a lightstaff" and then a minute later said "...and voila, a light karate staff!" Also, for those of you who don't know, the karate staff is the kind Darth Maul used. The short staff is the kind... erm... I can't think of anybody you all might know of who uses one. It's four feet long, and it handles sorta like when Darth Maul fought Qui Gonn with only one blade out. Sorta. Also, about the male/female threading, I know it sounds naughty, but it's not. obijonkenobi
I think the lightstaff would be the hardest weapon to use mainly because there is a high chance you will cut yourself in half with the other blade if your not careful. The fact Maul used it so flawlessly is a testamony to his awesomeness. And to this day I stand saying that if this was not a movie where Obi Wan has to live to be in the later movies, Maul would have killed him too. I mean if he only did the job of knocking him off while Obi Wan was hanging instead of just being all mean looking and showing off he would have won! But I like Obi-Wan so I am happy he won. Anyway to get to the point... I would have such a hard time with choosing my colour, I would make multiple hilts of the same design to have one of each colour! I would never stop collecting differant sabre blade colours! NEVER!
happydan
ive had an idea for a saber for a while. and im going to try to model it for JK2 (a tutorial on importing hilts would be nice ) basically it would be fairly long handle, about 1 1/2 ft. and black. there would be a sheathe over the top, that would be aluminium or gunmetal. this would be shaped to look like 2 ribbons were wrapped round it by cutting shapes out. the sheathe would come to a point above the beam emitter, like a sharp version of the one on lukes in ANH. at the other end, there wound be 4 disc shaped power packs, sort of like thick washers. stacked together with a small gap between them, joined by 6 thin grip strips (solid). on the end of the last power cell there would be the recharge adapter, and a belt clip to one side. and just above the 1st cell, there would be a big red button with a sticker next to it saying DO NOT TOUCH. and the beam would be green, and medium length (4ft.)
