mapmaker
Does anyone know what the difference is between Fullvis and Fullvis(extra)?
Wired
A better compile?
Vorax
Better lighting. With the 'extra' you get 5 times more tracing, makes for smother shadows and better light fall off. - Vorax
Wired
Let's not forget a longer compile time....
Vorax
^^ True. 5 times more light tracing = 5 times longer light compile. Note to all: Final versions of maps that you are releasing should be compiled with full-vis (extra). It will produce the best looking version of your map that you can get. - Vorax
Darth Draugmahl
Exactly, that is the command you should use to do the final compile on your map. I haven't had any of the "too bright" complaints that some people have and I have been using that command to do my test compiles so...I dunno. When I used to make heretic ii maps I didn't use it at all because it seems to change the way the lights looked completely. I'd spend hours trying to get the exact lighting I wanted and then run that and they'd be all screwed up (way brighter and the shadows weren't the same) but I haven't had that problem here. mapmaker
Alright, thanks a lot. I was wondering why the shadows looked funny when compiling in FullVis
