Okay as you know yesterday i tried to post it but the webspace was down. Now i have upload it to a safe wepspace. At the beginning it should be a duel map but now it´s quite big as a little ffa map and i have put it in 2 versions into the zip file. Please download it , play it and give me feedback for my ctf map which i´m building this time.

Do you mind if I state some possible improvments?

Just some ideas from the average customer thats all.....

 

:Lightsaber is unpossesable due to the fact you havn't set

the "NOWEAPON" option in the Player_Start config.

 

:Is that switch for any particular reason?

Now for the good things:

 

:Good, solid layout

:Good use of sky illusion (wish I could do that!!)

:Good textures

And lastly the questions......

 

:How do you get the sky so well matched up?

:How do you get the glass?

:Is that sky giving off ambient light or is it just me?

Good work! I like it, good for finding those enemies easily!

Hey why are you ask for installation??? A readme is putted in the zip file.

 

Yes i want feedback because I´m also working on a SP map(2% done :D) and a ctf map(90% done; i only have to fine tune the map).

 

So what is bad??? that a lightsaber lies on the ground??? That should be so for the Jedi Master option. Should i take it away???

 

Now to your questions:

 

1. The Sky??? Hm it was easy only make a box around your Level( so that that box is including your level) and gave this box a sky texture.BUT don´t use the pictures you can choose. There is texture called "yavin" (i think). You must select this texture, i know that are only squares but it´s the right texture. And in the game it will be sky ;)

 

2.The glass is the easiist. Only select the glass texture in the system folder i think. Or search for it, it must be a texture called "glass". In the editor its a very dark texture but in the game...

 

3.What is ambient light(excuse me but im only a german pupil ;) )

I don´t use special light only the normal light and an another colour.

 

Okay puh, but I have also a question and this is :

 

HOW TO MAKE FOG, i want to put it in this map but i couldn´t because i don´t know how.

Well every time I just through some textures onto a cube (in the correct theme of course, like all the yavin skies) they never join with each other if you catch my drift.

You always see the corners of the box, or the edges where the faces intercept.

Where as if you look at the ones in the game, whoooaaaoowww.

That´s no perfection it´s only a texture ;)

 

But you can´t see the sky in the editor , can´t you???

If you see lot´s of BLUE LITTLE SMALL Squares in your editor your'e right and it´s gonna be a sky in the game. When you see the sky in your editor your'e wrong!

PS: The glass texture is in the common folder ;)
