Wired
When I compile my map I get these warnings: Entity 0, Brush 115: duplicate plane Entity 0, Brush 117: duplicate plane Entity 0, Brush 125: duplicate plane Entity 0, Brush 130: duplicate plane ---You get the picture--- As far as I can tell it points to a brushes I've made into a triangular shape, and my questions is: 1. Do I have to fix this, will it slow down my map or something? 2. And is the only way to fix it to delete the old brushes and redoing them?
Gizmo2k
OK here goes you get the duplitate plane error when you merge 2 brush faces so as you say creating a 3 sided brush from a 4 sided brush will cause 2 of the sides to merge here's the best way to fix this problem(back up your map first) Use the misc/find brush menu and input the first brush number radiant will now select the offending brush for you. delete it then draw in a new brush but dont edit it yet. hit Crtl+3 this will turn your 4 sided brush into a 3 sided brush now hit the E key and drag the edge's back into the right place retexture and repeat for your other offening brushes (and yes you should fix it as it can cause problems in the bsp tree) hope this helps let use know how you get on ok
Wired
Phew, I did what you told me to do, and I think I got them all. Doing a fastvis now... shouldn't take more than two-three minutes then I'll see if I did indeed get them all... Dammit, it's fun to make maps!
