gogerbilgo
I just bought JK2 and installed it... it didn't work, couldn't find the default.cfg so I wanted to uninstall it, but it won't let me do that either. Not when I put in the CD it gives me the option to install, but when I click it, it tries to uninstal it, but doesn't work. This game SUCKS

enderWiggin6
thats pretty intelligent. because you don't know what you're doing, the game sucks. all those reviews saying 9.5/10 were lying, a vast conspiracy to get you to waste $50. ender. Get out the junk files out of you system, check and make sure you dont have any viruses, delete the JKII folder that is there. (If you can't uninstall it, deleting the folder may let you install from the CD again) Then see what happens.

RiverWalker
1) that video card WILL seriously (and I mean seriously) limit your systems capability, 2) the video card shouldn't be the cause of that problem how big is your harddrive? how much space left? I can't find a "default.cfg" in any of the folders relating to JK2 and mine works perfectly... what version of windows are you running? how long since it was installed? did you import this version of windows from an old set of hardware without reinstalling? when was the last defrag and scandisk? I would definitely say you need a registry cleanup, I think norton has a demo version that can do a registry scan that should clean things up a bit,
colmag
Don't slate someone because they paid £30 for a game, which doesn't work (on their system) and now they're pissed. It doesn't work on mine and i'm pissed too. It doesn't work on a lot of peoples machine (see threads in this forum) and they're also pissed. If it does work on your machine, thank whoever you believe in, and keep playing the game (while we sit here looking at another frozen screen, listening to the same repeating sound). There are way too many issues with this game for it to be a case of "I think the proper comment there is.. Your computer sucks. ". Grow up. twit21
I run a GeForce 2 MX 200, and can't see how it would limit my system's performance any more than my Voodoo 3 was... And if it does, so what? Worth the $80 to get 32 bit 3d performance, imho. Goger, what version of Windows are you running? I see you have an *insane* amount of RAM in your system (*jealous* ), but you should know that Win9x/Me doesn't like anything over 512MB....too many memory leaks, and not enough handlers. You can fix it, but personally I'd use this as an exuse to install XP... As far as JO goes, I think you have a pretty seriously corrupted install. Delete the LucasArts folder in your Program Files folder, then run regedit (or Norton Windoctor if you have it) and track down all of JO's entries. Just hit F3 and search for 'jedi'. After that, do the usual pre-install maintenance. Do you play Unreal Tournament? When it first came out, there were problems with corrupted installs, and the answer that those guys always gave was "Run scandisk and do a complete defrag before installing this game." -]Bob
