Guest JediAndrew
How do you join brushes? i am making a brush that i want to join 2 other brushes together.. ( elminate the middle vertices and connect it) is there any way to do this...? a very simple example of what i want to do is take a square brush duplicate it light it up on the ends.. then join it to make a box exactly double the size this isn't what i am trying to do but it is like it.. UniKorn
Why would you want to do that?
DNACowboy
To make more complex objects symetrical... the best way to do that instead of trying to get each side of the brush the same, make the brush once, duplicate it, flip it, then join it.. the only problem i am having is joining the 2 brushes togehter now, i could always do a func_group but that makes it a lot more painful since you still have to texture every surface. an example is.. make a door that has a bevel on the top corners, now to get hte angle right the easiest thing to do is to make half the door, clip the angle off duplicate it , then flip the duplicate for hte other half of the door, now both angles are exactly the same, more so than i could say if you tried to clip both sides the same.. Cmdr. Antilles
Umm... Radiant is brush-based, not poly-based like a modeling program. You can't do that. Best way to make a beveled door is make your doorway, make your bevel, copy it, then flip/rotate it and place in in the other corners. I take it you're used to modeling programs... You're gonna have to learn some new ways of doing things to get around with Radiant.
DNACowboy
Someone correct me if this wouldn't work as i'm at work i can't try it. can you say take a brush and make a Mold per say ( by doing the flip and what not and CSG subtract).. then make your working brush and do some sort of CSG subtract with it in the mold?? that wouldn't be that much work at all, wonder if it would work though.
