w0ls0n Posted April 29, 2002 Posted April 29, 2002 Looking for the different settings you can use for the jk2ded filename. I want to be able to choose maps, I want Force Powers and also want to know if there is a FAQ.
w0ls0n Posted April 29, 2002 Author Posted April 29, 2002 I forgot to mention a few things. I am running on a Linux platform on a 466Mhz with 256MB SDRAM and 30GIG of storage. Any idea how many players I can run at the max? I ran 6 players and my PID CPU usage was only at 30% so I think that 18 players would be the max?
MadMac Posted April 29, 2002 Posted April 29, 2002 What sort of connection do you have, as this will limit the number of players you will be able to support as well.
w0ls0n Posted April 29, 2002 Author Posted April 29, 2002 My connection is 3mb/3mb and I would like to know how to make JK2 COme on on startup as a background app. Thank you for your time.
evilpeno Posted April 29, 2002 Posted April 29, 2002 to have it launch on start up you'd have to dump a script into /etc/rc.boot that would call the jk2 server
w0ls0n Posted May 1, 2002 Author Posted May 1, 2002 Great except that I dont have a rc.boot in my /etc folder. Is there a way to unzip files in freebsd with the .zip extension?
evilpeno Posted May 1, 2002 Posted May 1, 2002 you mentioned before you were on a linux platform, now you're on freebsd? make up your mind.. sheeeesh i'm not familiar enough with freebsd to tell you where programs run at boot are stored.
w0ls0n Posted May 2, 2002 Author Posted May 2, 2002 Well, FreeBSD is a linux variant. Sorry about that. Unzipping a zip file in FreeBSD should be the same thing in linux.
xfractal Posted May 4, 2002 Posted May 4, 2002 FreeBSD is not a linux variant. it is a unix variant. you can unzip files with using unzip <filename> if you don't have the utility, download it from ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/infozip
gambit_gor Posted May 5, 2002 Posted May 5, 2002 Hi Ya, Maybe a silly question but is Linux & Unix linked in anyway? I tell you why I ask: I've got a mac running Mac OS X which I am told is really a unix OS, and i was wondering if it would be possible to run a Linux dedicated server on my Mac??!!! I am more or less sure there would be more complications invloved, but I just need it confirming before scraping the idea! Thanx in advance
