my fog doesn't work

how do you make fog i made a square and applied a fog texture fog_black or something like that but in the game it doesn't show up please help

Fog has to be completely enclosed on all sides but one.

Basically, you can't have a brush of fog sitting there in the middle of a map. It should fill a room, or the bottom of a canyon, etc.

i have it enclosed one three sides i hollowed out a box and put layer of fog on the bottom but it doesn't show up when i test it do i havge to much light, or to much sky?

maybe make sure you dont have any leaks or anything. make sure ONLY 1 face is visible. if you can, rebuild the fog area and see if that help.
