Virus
Just wondering if anyone else is having probs with the default shaders in jedi knight 2. Allmost all my shaders won't work at all. Once I get this part working I should be all set to build a nice test level.
Jedi Howell
just making ur own RAD file was so much easier, wasn't it? hmph. my luck with shaders so far has been bad, as well. damnit, my level doesn't want to do texture lighting. jh
mapmaker
They don't like anyone. Quite a few of the shaders seem broken, but I've gotten water and skies to work. The sky shaders 'bespin' or kejim_light' 'normallight' and 'yavin' seem to work. Those are the only ones I've tested.
Virus
I don't lioke broken shaders, reminds me of when quake 3 first came out, to bad I took a steb backwards and edit for TFC. Still my FGav game after all these years. Anyways I got the space sky to somewhat work but it don't thro off any light at all. Am I going to have to wait for some nice person to edit all the shaders ? I wish they were'nt all broke .. oh well keep posting.
mapmaker
For it to give light, you most likely have to change the ambient rating. To do that, open up the entities menu and scroll down to the bottom of the list, then click on 'worldspawn'. Now, in the 'key' field type 'ambient' and in the value field, type a number (I think the number 250 will give you a sunset kind of lighting) then press enter. Experiment with different numbers to find which lighting you want. P.S. I forgot, but you may or may not need to have a worldspawn entity in your map for that to work, try it without one and if it doesn't work, add a worldspawn. Ravenous180
Me too, i cant get the shaders working (not even really sure what they are, im asuming that they are the lights on certain textures). basically im in the the middle of making a bespin rooftops map and ive been trying to get the skys to emit light, ive tried everything i can think of (im new to radient... very new, i used to try making Half Life maps to no avail, but this map is definately worthy of release...) I just started using radient a few days ago and i can already do all sorts of things but the skys elude me. Bascially to test my level every once in a while i create a hollow box around everything and put the sky texture on it ( you know the little small green square that represents the bespin sky texture, it also turns blue when you select it the first time. Now when the level gets converted to BSP i start up the level and all the architexture (my spelling sucks:) ) is black (unlit in other words) and the sky is rendered perfectly. I even tried that worldspawn trick but it didnt work. We need to work this out, and quick i get frustrated easily.
Virus
Yup this is cause the shaders are all broken or allmost all of them. Shaders just tells the texture if it's a sky it gives it the info for the right ammount of light, same thing with metal reflective textures they all have shaders to make an effect. I just hoping since I don't know how to edit shaders yet that someone fixes them. I know there's allways someone around to give a helping hand. I know that there working on geting GTK rad for JK 2. So I am hoping that they get this done soon or someone else find a fix. Thats all for now, have fun and all ..
Lord Reye's
Most my textures are green squares. but i was wondering are all the default setting right because my map is not compiling or is this a texture problem as well?
