Spen
I have a room with 4 torches and I added a "target_speaker" with a fire sound for each. But it sounds like the whole room is on fire when I do that. Is there a way of lowering the volume, or maybe the radius of the sounds?

Grets Sirob
hehe I'm going to sound dumb for saying this but, how did you make torches? I'm new.
mapmaker
You could try adding the sound to just one torch, other then that, I don't know, sorry.
camp3r
i don't know that you can adjust the volume. short of taking the sound and editing it in an audio program then using it as a custom sound. why not just put one target speaker in the center of the torches/room? Spen
Hmmm dang it. Well thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll have to settle for placing one target_speaker in the room. As for the torch, you just place an fx_runner, (right click, fx> fx_runner) bring up the entities window and type in fxFile for the key and env\fire.efx for the value. That will get you a nice fire. There are a bunch of other things you can use, some different fire too. Just look in the effects\env folder, if you've extracted the assets0.pk3. (you might also have to have assets1.pk3, and mapextras.pk3 extracted)
FEXX
To lower a sound you need to use a Wave Editing application, then save out that wave and link it in JK2Radiant. But again, one sound tigger will do; the sound is really not so realistic to make a tigger for each entity.
Torchy
you dont need to edit the wav, just use the following key and value in the light entity "volume" "x" where is x is 0.1 to 1, 1 being loudest
Grets Sirob
Thanks Spen. Maybe I'll add some torches to my map. Looks strange the way light seems to come out of nowhere...
