Buttons on a floor?

Can buttons be used on a floor? And if so would standing on it trigger the function?

 

I ask this because I have an elevator/lift and it rests on floor 1 and goes up to floor 2 and goes backs down. But when on floor 2 I want the elevator to come back up without using a wall button.

 

Just like the elevators inside the deathstar ffa map.

yes it's possible.

 

however a better way is to use a trigger in front of the exit/entrance to the elevator. instead of a button.
