PainGod
So, there is tons of rants about JK2R here and everywhere else. There are a proportionate number of people switching to GTKR, and then we have a patch released for GTK today. I read somewhere that GTK doesn't see all the textures. Does the patch fix that? What are the exact pros and cons against these two? Which one is the best one? And why? I really want to know what you guys think about this as it would help me make a good and informed decision on my mapping. Pg
FEXX
I am with you. What are the pros can cons of the two map tools. Is one easier than the other, if so, how so?
Gizmo2k
GTK is a lot more stable and sortcut keys menu option ect ect ect are a lot more user freindly things like shortcut key to cycle patch cap textures, being able to select more that one face on a brush or muilti-brushes so you can quickly change textures over a large area with many brush faces then again that said a lot of ppl who are using GTKrad to edit JK2 have been using it for many year in one form or another(myself since quake2 days)and you can just become used to doing things a certain way so when you find that time saving shortcut missing you can become a little miffed also the q3map -bsp and light compilers have had a hell of a lot of work done to them over the past few months we cant use these ATM as jk2's bsp output is diffrent to that of q3map but the guys at raven have sent the guys at GTK all the info they need to add support for JK2 to GTK its just a matter of them finding the time to do so.
