***Bespin Sky Patrol PREVIEW!***

Hey guys!

 

Well I finally got my first map to a state where it's worth showing! :D

 

Right now it's about 80% done. I'm still tweaking the textures and lighting positions, I also have plans to add more detail...

 

 

The setting is AROUND Bespin somewhere in the clouds. "Bespin Sky Patrol" is basically a checkpoint/outpost/refuel pad for the patroling pods around Cloud city.

 

This will be a DUEL map, maybe a FFA (so everyone can be spawned at the same time on the platform; waiting to be challenged to a duel - (something like the Bespin_streets map and the duels there in MP)

 

 

Anyways... this is my first time mapping, so any constructive comments are welcome. :)

You should make some cloud cars flying around the map that you could maybe jump on, and use to get to secret locations... Or if not, at least have them flying around for effect Like on patrol, or coming in for repairs. :)

 

 

:p It's in the works! ...still learning JKRad, but basically, I want to have a Bespin Pod to fly over the platform at certain times.

 

I added more detail to the map... I'll post some new pics as soon as I get the flying Pod working.

You know what I think would be cool? Now keep in mind that you don't need to do this, I just think it would be cool. You could find some way to put a model or brush or something really far from the main level, and shape it like Cloud City. That way you could see Cloud City in the background. Couldn't get to it of course but it would make some cool eye candy. Well that's my thought, remember that you don't have to implement it, but it would be cool. :D

And I would like to see a sniper tower too. And cloud city shouldn't be too hard to make in the background.

yeah just give a console command like this.

 

/seta cg_drawfps ,to show fps.

 

/seta com_maxfps 200 ,to change the standard 85 fps to 200.

 

You could chage it to what evr number you want.I suggest stay above 85 and not above 200.if you mess up and set it to 1 .that s 1 frames persecond..

 

/seta ,just writes it to the cfg file for good, er untill you change it.

Now, about Cloud city... I was thinking instead of modeling one and setting it far out away from the platform, I would take a nice pic of Cloud city (new texture) and set it far off in the distance.

 

 

What you guys think? It's easier and better for game play, better r_speeds eh.

The Func_Master does not agree with your opinion on the matter.

Therefore, the Func_Master has decreed that your opinion is invalid, and of no consequence. Persist in these unprovoked attacks against the Func_Master, and the Func_Master will see if he can't dig up a certain old pic... :p

I forgot it was a duel map. Forget the tower request. ;)

It's actually quite small compared to other duel maps. Right from the start I wanted a 1 on 1 duel map, but as I went along I decided to also make it FFA for one reason, and that is to let people stand around and watch duels/waiting to be challenged.

 

If you ever played bespin_streets FFA Saber only then you'll know what I'm refering to.... (platform duels) so yeah, it will support FFA but without weapons. I'll be adding one B Canister, 4 Medkits, and 4 shields. I'll probably be placing them on the catwalks.
