Anarchangel
not sure how to make ramps? any help?
Cmdr. Antilles
Make a brush that is the same height, width and dept of the ramp you want. Then, in the side view, select the brush and hit 'X'. That will bring up 'clipping' mode, and you can now click on the top corner of one side, and the lower corner of the other side. You'll see a line connecting those points. That is where the brush will be divided. Check the 3dview to see what it will look like. If the wrong part is being deleted, hit escape, and redo it, but start with the other corner (there is an easier way to switch which side is cut out, but I forgot it). When you're happy, hit enter, and the brush will be cut. Hope that makes some kind of sense.

volrathxp
you can also use the vertices or edge modes on a brush to make one much easier

tofu
The fastest way is to clip it, and if it's the wrong section that's highlighted, go to the menu and click Selection, then Clipping and Flip Clipping Side. I'm kinda new to Q3 editing, but vertex editing can be a pain sometimes. JKradient usually crashes on me when I try to undo some vertex or patch editing. volrathxp
that's why you edge. way easier than clipping
Cmdr. Antilles
Yeah, but a ramp is a triangular prism, not a rectangular prism. For ramps, the best way is to clip it.
volrathxp
um... i dunno what kinda of ramp you're talking about but all the ramps i've seen all have four sides, not three. i've made pretty good ramps before just using the edge tool. i dunno. to each his own i guess. volrath
Whooz
To switch the selection, hit [Ctrl]+[Enter]. Also, if you just want to cut the brush in two pieces without deleting the other piece, hit [shift]+[Enter].
Cmdr. Antilles
4 sided ramp eh? So it slopes up at one angle, then changes angle mid-incline? Explain. *edit* Thanks, Whooz. I was trying to remember that.
