pk3, making map show up on multi-list

Im sure this has been addressed before, and for that im sorry. But to the point how do i make my map so that it shows up in the multiplayer map list?

You have to make an .arena file for your map in the scripts directory specifying what game modes your map will be available in.

You can also edit it manually with a text editor, but since I've been having problems with this, i wouldn't recommend it.

ok, i got arenamaster, but it wont let me select duel as a type of map? is there something special i need to do?

Generate a basic arena file

 

open it in a text editor, and as far as I understand simply add "duel" as a flag to make it a duel only map

"duel ffa" to make it duel and ffa, etc

ok i made the .arena file, and the .bsp file how do i convert those into a pk3....im sure there is a very simple answer to this.

All a pk3 file is is a zip file... you can use winzip and just rename the .zip extension to .pk3... or there is a program out there called Pakscape that will give you a little more control over it.

arg, ok i have the pk3 made now but i can only make the .arena file if i do it manually through notepad, but when i do this it always has the extension .txt If i try to use Arena master it says it created it successfully but i get nothing(and ive tried making it both different ways), what should i do?

check where your saving it too...i use arena master and it works just fine...or...unzip a .pk3 from someone else...extract their arena file...and edit it...then save.
