Ronald McDonald
Hopefully this will be my last post about RAM and Video Chips. 1.)How do I know what kind of RAM chip to buy for my computer? 2.)I don't care if the game has the most beautiful graphics ever, all that I care is that the game is playable (no hardcore lag) and that I can distinguish items and players. So, having that in mind, will a GeForce2 MX card satisfy me?

So, having that in mind, will a GeForce2 MX card satisfy me? Answers: 1. you must either know which OEM you bought the computer IE Dell, or which motherboard you have. Once this info is known, go look up what kind of ram you have at their website. 2. No. An MX is a chiked down card, a GF2 MX will perform roughly the same as a Gf1 card with the same type of RAM. Instead of having a 128bit memory bus, it has a 64bit one, which effectively halves the bandwidth for the card, furthermore they use cheaper and slower memory on MX cards. You will likely still lag using this. If money is of concern, you will likely be better finding an old GF2 card, or an ATI card. ATI brings issue of drivers, but the company has gotten better, not great by any means, but better.
