Bogus marker length ?

I just bought this game today and I cannot start multiplayer or single player because when the game loads and crashes to the desktop, I get this "Bogus marker length" error

 

I have a 1.2 ghz AMD with a Geforce 2 Ultra and 256 megs of DDRAM. I tried this game on another computer which was a p3 600 on a voodoo 5500 with 128 megs of SDRAM

 

So what the hell does this mean?

 

P.S Yes I did use the search in the forums, but those people had a different kind of Bogus error
