Hey, you there! Tell me more! What is this concept of "RPG-level"?

And what kind of leves are those you mentioned?

I have allways liked mapping non-linear levels.

But please explain the RPG-level concept to me, and do explain what makes a good RPG-map and I'll get on with it right when I get back home.

Well A Rpg Is A Game You Play Where You Take Part Of A Role Of Somebody Such As Final Fantasy 7 Where You Take The Part Of Cloud. Any Setting Is Good For Role Play: Nar Shadda, Tatooine Etc. A Good Rpg Level Should Include Really:Appartment, Bar And A Secuirty Station. Depending On The Setign You Have You Can Have Extras LIke: Office, Junkyard Shops etc. The Possibilites Are Endless. If You Need More Of A Idea, If You Have Jedi Knight : Dark Forces They Have Loads Of Already Made Rpg Maps You Could Play And See The Feel Of What People Like When They Play Rpg, Here Are Some Examples You Could Try: Ceasers Palace, Drazen Isle, Manticeville Rpg And Also Barons Hed. You Can Get All These Maps At http://www.massassi.net .

I Hope This Helped Eziz!

:D:cool:;)

So basically a map with loads of different locations/shops/bars/hangars/ship interiors/barracks for people to roleplay their character in?

Any set rules for RPG maps you'd have to follow?

I'm trying hard to think of a setting to place a map like this in. Maybe something like Tatoiine or Nar Shaddaa, or a swamp, like Rishii (was it even a swamp), or Myrkr.

Well There Is 1 Set Rule: no rpg noobies or idiots :)

I think You Should Have A Go At A Nar Shadda One Because Thatd Be So Fun! It Is Basically Loads Of Locations People Can Work In, Socialize In, In 1 Map. But Anotehr Tip Is That Most Rpg Levels Have Secret Hide Outs For The Bad Guys. There Are Many Ways TO Achieve This. Secret Buttons Which Move Objects So You Can Gte In Secret Area And Walls That You Can Walk Through.

RPing in JO could be great, but wouldn't that need a MOD?

I mean... if you want to talk to someone, your message will appear for everyone, and that's bothering if more than a few players are on the map.

I don't know very well the possibilities of a MOD, but some of theses ideas would make RPing far more easier:

- your sayings could appear above your head (sounds hard or impossible to code), or appear only for players close to you;

- several animations like the 'taunt' (dancing, laughing, etc...);

- NPCs could react to certain words or actions (they let you enter some room if you tell the right password, or come to help you if you yell "help");

- players start with no equipment and some money, and have to buy their stuff in shops;

- etc.... ?

Of course that's a lot of work!! And perhaps some people are already RPing with the standard JO... But if they do so, could you explain how?? (I could give a try as soon as my PC is repaired :))

Hey Great Idea,

It Would Be Possible Though It'd take Months Too Make Expecially With The Animations. If You Want To Make The Mod Go Ahead! But You Dont Have To Have It Because Jedi Knight 1 Did Not Have It But It Would Be Great If You Could!

I just released the second Preview of it here!

But it is still worked on- this actually was intended to be part of a RPG-Mod that someone (sorry, forgot who it was) wanted to make even before the Tools came out. I will try to put in a huge area as possible, based on the sketch I have from Mos Eisley.
