NecaboTe
My single player game freezes after ~5 minutes of play, every time. The sound repeats and my screen is frozen I may need a new driver for my chipset, but I don't know exactly where to get them. I can't seem to find them at the Asus page. My Specs are: 900 Athlon Thunderbird GeForce 2 Hercules MX 400 (Drivers Updated) Asus7 Pro MoBo Soundblaster Live! Platinum 5.1 Windows 98 My directX and Vid and Sound card drivers are all up to date. I just got the game today and I can't even play it for more than 5 minutes at a time. HELP!!! Sutek
The Asus site: You DID try http://www.asus.com didn't you? As for the lockups I'm afraid I have no idea...but looking at the Asus site I can see your board is a VIA board. There have been a lot of problems with AMDs on VIA boards in general, and you may need to look out for the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers (I think) as well. That being said, your system is virtually identical to my gfs computer (her processor is faster, and the mobo is based on the same chipset I believe), and I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever. Ooh! I have remembered something! Go into your BIOS, look for the Advanced Chipsets page (the one with memory timings). Have you altered any of these/loaded a "fast" setup? If so, crank em back down to the default levels. I never mess with these because it causes more instability than a barrelful of Microsoft coders.
