Garland Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 I'm gonna post a screenshot of this map I've been working on, I'm gonna release it this weekend, mainly since I wanna recompile the level and change a few things. Hopefully it'll get a nice rating. ^^ Here's a picture of the night version of the map: http://renalan.weyland-yutani.net/shots/shot0000.jpg -Garland
DannyJAllTheWay Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 WHOA! You just blew my mind away. That is awesome. I think you will definitly get a nice rating. Keep up the good work.
Coyote399 Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 looks good, but what is that green stuff intended to be? btw, where did you get that sky shader?
Garland Posted May 7, 2002 Author Posted May 7, 2002 Whoa, two replies this fast? ^^; I'm happy. The shader I made myself, and the fog, well, I don't have an excuse for it, it just looks cool to saber duel in with the friends I've tested it with. ^^; Thanks for the positive feedback! -Garland
fabrikashon Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 The land looks a little flat to me, is there more areas to it or is it just a dual map? The fog also looks like some kind of poisen/gas - the tree in the middle of it seems out of place.
Garland Posted May 7, 2002 Author Posted May 7, 2002 The tree seems that way because of perspective, and the gas ain't poisonous, though I might make it that way before the weekend. (to discourage item runs) The thing about the flat land is I want to avoid using too many patch meshes, as the brush count is already high, I'll see what I can fix about that before the release this weekend. -Garland
fabrikashon Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 No I don't mean the perspective on the tree, I mean, how many trees do you see growing in green gas? Even though it isnt gas yet, green normally represents poisen/disease etc - that is why the tree looks out of place to me.
dreamstation Posted May 7, 2002 Posted May 7, 2002 Hey very cool map! Me and a friend are hosting a mapping competition very soon and we wanna see some very high quality maps submitted! Here is a link to the thread with the details: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=49494 Thanx
Garland Posted May 7, 2002 Author Posted May 7, 2002 Ahh... I see what you mean about the tree now. Well, a green gas's gotta come from somewhere. Gas emitting tree! Heh. Well, that's just my first map, so I don't think I'm ready for any competitions. o.O -Garland
