I've entered a room with only one imperial officer whom I've killed and picked up the security key.

 

There are two openings with blue shields stopping you going through them, 3 doors which two let you in only to find another door which is locked and the other is also locked.

 

I can see a small door with the circular opener at the side but can't seem to get through this either.

 

Is there something I should have done?

Go into one of the two rooms that has a locked door. Now, look at the ceiling. You should see a grate. Cut through it and jump up there. There's a grate on each side. One will have a secret, the other is the way to go.
