Playing your own music?

make sure that you MP3 is in the \music folder in your base folder in your .PK3 then use the console to play it using the proper syntax.

E.G

music \music <mp3 file>

i think you can play different tunes by navigating to the specific directory e.g \music\bespin before your mp3 file.

Hope this helps

P.s if you type just music on its own you should get a console description and syntax.

Ahhh crap, it still doesn't work.

Everytime i try it gives me some stupid error message.

I created a music folder under...

C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\base\Music

I put my mp3 file in there.

I open up the game console and type:

Music Hero

and it says "Hero.mp3" file unable to something i forgot. What am I doing wrong?

your mp3 file has to be in that directory inside you PK3 file in your base folder then using the console type

"music \music<your directory> <MP3 file>"

(obviously without the quotation marks)

it really is quite simple you just supply JK2 with the music file in a PK3 file then tell it where to look to play it!

  • 2 weeks later...

ok so i have a pk3 file in my Base folder called "music.pk3". Within this pk3 file i have a number of mp3's.

Now, lets say one of the mp3s is called "1.mp3"...

What would be the console command to play this mp3 in multiplayer?

Cheers

Ok lets take this one step at a time!!!!

1) Create a .mp3 file in your favorite app. for example

"monkey.mp3"

2)if you open assets.pk3 in winzip or something you will see a folder called music or somewhere in the file is a folder called music, this is the folder in which JK2 will look for music files.

3)create a folder anywhere you want called music or a folder within a folder depending on the assets arrangement.

4)place your .mp3 file in this music folder

e.g "\music\monkey.mp3"

then zip this folder in your favorite zipping utility. (I use winzip.)

rename the zip file the same as your .mp3 and change the extension from .zip to .pk3 e.g "Monkey.pk3"

5)place this .pk3 file in you base folder (i think) and then use the console commands to play your music.

6)pull down the console using shift~

type

"music" to invoke the music command then give it parameters to work with so that.

"music \music\<your directory> <mp3 file>"

e.g

"music \music\monkey monkey"

(obviously without the quotation marks)

this process should work but there may be some mistakes as I am doing this message from memory

Hope it helps
