NewBJedi
Since this is my last post in this forum (just tired of all the pointless arguing) - copying to "Valley" as well: Patch gripes/suggestions/wishlist: This is my final comment/gripe/suggestion on the game. List of issues by levels of importance: 1. Backflip/Kick is nerfed. GRRRR!!!! Kick is next to impossible to use now. 2. Drain is nerfed. Hurray more 'other force' spam! 3. Grip is nerfed - I just loved fighting grip! It was fun! 4. Saber defense is way too high - though the attack is actually much better and more accurate. Suggestions on how to fix these problems: A. Fixing backflip/kick can be done two different ways: 1. Server-side option/rule: g_backflipkick 0/1 g_backflipkick 0 = Double Tap (default) g_backflipkick 1 = Single Tap Or: 2. Clientside Jump Control - toggle Backflip Double-Tap on/off On = 1.03 style (default) Off = 1.02 style B. Fix For Nerfed Forces: Easy solution: Modify the rule "g_MaxForceRank": You can either: 1. Add more Force Ranks - with more selections. Or: 2. Change the Force Rank System to something as follows: g_MaxForceRank should have 0 0 0 - 3 digits. 1st set = Neurtral/universal force powers: 0 - 8 2nd set = Light Force Powers: 0 - 8 3rd set = Dark Force Powers: 0 - 8 0 - 7 = normal settings - 1.03 8 = 1.02's 7 (max forces). 3. Allow auto-blocking to be turned on and off: g_saberautoblock 0/1 g_saberautoblock 1 = 1.03 saber autoblock (default) g_saberautoblock 0 = 1.02 saber autoblock or: g_saberautoblock 0 = Manual saber block (requiring key bind for block) 4. Weapon and ammo respawns to be different: Change g_weapondisable to g_weapons: g_weapons 0 - 2 g_weapons 0 = no weapons g_weapons 1 = 1.03 style (default) g_weapons 2 = 1.02 style Allow the in-game browser to show these important changes on the side of each server - perhaps in graph form, with the important options clearly displayed - on a side column when someone clicks on a server. Allow the in-game browser to filter out these kinds of options - in and advanced options button/area. People using ASE or GS can easily filter these out via modifiers and filters. Okay - you won't be hearing from me again. Bye.
Darth Iroel
I think that to make the saber fight better it's sufficient to diminish the players resistance to hits, it would be fine if you could kill with just one or two hits.....
SpaceMonkey1315
tell me something, how were all of those ideas completly idiotic, those "problems" were the changes to make the game better, and they did it...and the whole "i loved grip" thing shows you were probably one of the many who would play ns_streets and grip everybody, which shows no meaning for fun, but a winners ideals...which do not make any sense to me how people can play to win, and not to have fun
Aiee
You CAN kill with just 1 or two hits. If you hit someone when a heavy swing is right in the middle of its animation (at that time, the saber blade will be roughly in a 45 degree angle), the slash will do 70-80 damage. In the short interval outside the middle (from 30 degrees to 60 degrees) it does 40-60 damage. If you time your moves so they hit in the exact middle of their animation, you can kill a player with 1-2 heavy hits OR 4-5 medium hits OR 6-7 light hits. 1 medium and one heavy hit can kill too, if you get them just right. Sure, it's trickier to do than in 1.02 (where even glancing someone with the tip of your saber near the end of your swing in heavy stance would do 80-somethign damage to a shielded opponent, and sometimes kill them outright), but I prefer my fights to last a bit longer than 2 or 3 swings. NewBJedi
Okay one more post: 1. I loved fighting grip - didn't read that part? Read it again - I loved fighting people who used grip on me! I actually enjoy challenges! 2. These are suggestions for OPTIONS. Notice all the 1.03 settings would be default! Heaven forbid we give allow for options to make EVERYONE HAPPY! Oh, no! Wow, options, how painful!

I'm not sure what tactic you used before, but I would turn on absorb and they would drop me immediately. Grip is still in the game. Sure they changed it a bit, but I can't understand why you say its no longer "fun" to fight someone that uses grip. What did you do ..let them grip you and toss you around before you tried to fight back???...your statement simply makes no sense. To tell you the truth, once I started the absorb thing, grip was NEVER a problem.
NewBJedi
Sigh ..okay okay very last post ... I used dark force side (mainly drain) = no absorb. I enjoyed them fighting grippers that could potentially kill me and I'd have to use push. pull, or other things to stop it. I like the fact at some point I could lose if the grip went too far. I like challenges. k. I guess people don't want options, that makes too much sense.
Ko'or Oragahn
Well, you can't do the forward kick as easily as before, and it's sad because now I can't even execute even one now, but the lateral jump kick still works. * * * Btw I hoped that we could fly while jumping and going backwards but no, if you do so, you'll just execute a salto, nothing more. We can't do the move Luke did in ROTJ when he jumped backwards and flew to the upper platform before Vader just threw his spinning lightsabre. Aiee
Yes you can. Hit and hold jump, THEN hit backwards. (Clarification: You don't hit backwards until you leave the ground) It will make you jump up, and backwards. Not as far backwards as up and forwards sends you forwards, but I never heard of anyone who could jump as far backwards as he could jump forwards anyway ;]
Ko'or Oragahn
Err... no you can't. Why ? Because you won't make any salto at the top of your jump, and that's very important
Aiee
. . . A salto is... important. Oooooook.... Whatever you say, chief. I still say you're nitpicking now though
Ko'or Oragahn
Sure, I am nitpicking, but it's the itpicking that make great games. Btw, why didn't the devs let the player able to Force fly while going backwards ?
TrUeFoRcE
though i dont agree with some of ur complaints , i do agree that there should be more options rather than changing something and having it "set in stone" if a smart mod team got together and jsut did stuff like fix these things then ide hope there would be alot less complaints....although most mod teams got a decent idea behind there mod...almost all of them will probably end up falling throguh because tehre will be even more things that people could complain about than the original game...
