Gideon
Hey there. I'm kinda new to mapmaking but I'm bussy with a Naboo map. Though I have a couple of problems seen in the list below 1.How do you insert enemy's without being an NPC (that does mean that you have to speak with it right?) Because the Rebels keep walking behind me while they need to stay put 2.How do you make flowing water. The way I see it you can only make a couple of textures that go in the direction of the Waterfall/Fountain. 3.How do you make a plant like in yavin_swamp 4. Can I see my models in Radiant by doing something? I hope to get an answer as soon as possible. By the way, for an example of flowing water, check out the yavin_final map. (not with Radiant but in singleplayer or something) If you go to the left or right you'll see two fountains and I WANT TO DO THE SAME!!!
Gideon
Oh... I would almost forget, how can you insert a message like "May the Force be with you" -Ben Kenobi pop-up on your screen.
Daexiar
strangely enough, i had an idea of making a naboo map myself, the queens palace that is
Gideon
I hope to see it one day because mine stinks. I've been working on it two days but I don't like it. Question: do you know how to make round roofs like in the movie and windows with grates in front of them? Do you have a couple of selfmade Naboo textures? I hope to release a couple of screenshots in a few hours or days.
Daexiar
To make those nice round roofs, make curve/cone. and if you want it to be seen from under, then insert it from matrix. and ofcourse, self-made naboo textures.
Gideon
What do you mean with: insert it from matrix. And what do you mean with selfmade Naboo textures? Do you mean you have them because if you do, please mail me at: dtjveen@hotmail.com
Daexiar
from curve/matrix/insert and yes, you have to make custom textures.
Gideon
How do you make your own textures?

Gideon
But don't you mean that you can get an extra texture in the texture menu or am I completely wrong?
Eagle_e7
Hi About the text thing Im using gtk 1.2.8-jk2 btw check this thread for info http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=53067 I also wanted to know how to do this because im also making an rpg level:D I was looking through the entitys list and i found an entity called "target_print" create the entity and i think you can place it anywhere in the level. With the entity selected open up the entity properties by pressing N. To choose your message type this key: message value: the text you want printed on the screen If you want want only the player that activated it to see the text then click "private" on the entitys properties menu. Now that you have the entity and your message you need to activate it. there are many ways to do this:D but for a test, create a block around the area you want the player to activate the message(so if you wanted the player to activate the message as he walks through a doorway you would engulf the door with the block) Now that you have your block, turn it into a "trigger_multiple" entity by selecting the block, right clicking, then going to trigger, then clicking "trigger_multiple". Now deselect everything and then select your block again, now select the "trigger_print" entity. make sure that both the block and the "trigger_print" entity is selected then press control+k, you should see a line joining them together. Compile and run your map and your message should print to the screen when you walk throgh the block Hope this helps:D Edit: spelling:)
Gideon
That is a major help!!! Now I still need to fix the other problems so if you have a solution!
Eagle_e7
Ok i found out how to do a waterfall! Ill give you an axample. Create a vertical block in your level that will be your waterfall, Now load the yavin textures, Under the yavin textures you should find a texture called "waterfall". texture this to your block and when you load the level it should look like the water is flowing downwards:)
