Lord_FinnSon
Like so many other Star Wars fans/gamers, I was very, very, very dissapointed because of LucasArts decision to cancel development of Obi-Wan for the PC. Now all of you, who have waited this FPS to gamestore near you, have a chance to make LEC reconsider its bad decision: www.petitiononline.com/ob1pc/petition.html Lord_FinnSon

Guest Salad
I don't know if any of you care, but I think that you should stop petitioning LEC to make Obi-Wan for the PC. It's not going to happen. Instead, I think it would be better if you asked them to possibly release the work on Obi-Wan for the PC that they had completed up until now. That way, we could see why they decided not to continue Obi-Wan for the PC, and possibly there might be some coder out there who could finish the job in his own way. Just a thought. No offense, but I think what you are suggesting is even LESS likely to happen. Why would they release a free beta or incomplete source to us? As it stands, one coder would probably not be able to "finish" it on his own, especially if he wasn't getting paid. It would be more likely for them to release the full game, so that they could sell it and make some money. It would be quite possible, after the Xbox release has made some money, and they have recouped their losses from the production of the game, to release a PC version as a courtesy to the fans. It would take some converting of course, but by that time (perhaps mid-2001), mainstream PC's should be powerful enough to easily handle the game. That is why we are doing the petition. To let LEC know that we are upset that the PC version has been cancelled, and if a PC version was ever made available, which we encourage them to do, we would gladly buy it. If you wish to start your own asking them to release the unfinished PC port (on the internet??), go ahead, but don't try to stop us, just simply don't sign this one if you don't agree with it. Guest Salad
Granted, it would be difficult for one person to finish Obi-Wan on their own, but you yourself said that your petition was 5k people strong. If that many people are so angry about not having Obi-Wan on the PC, I find it hard to believe that out of those 5k there would be no one who'd be willing to work on it. Also, I think that you are missing the point of LucasArts terminating Obi-Wan for the PC. Have you actually played Obi-Wan? It seems like many people out there are thinking Obi-Wan is something it's not. I have come to believe that Obi-Wan is more like an arcade game than a FPS computer game. This would explain why they have decided to make it a console-only product. The real question is, if you had Obi-Wan for the PC, how much would you enjoy it? LucasArt's decision to make Obi-Wan for the console only also says that they are only willing to put their best products on the PC. If THEY think that Obi-Wan is too crappy for the PC, then it probably is.
