The new Darth Vader in Single Player???

Ten Tigers

Recommended Posts

I wanted to make this a topic of it's own so the question didnt get lost in a sea of WELL DESERVED thankyous and gratuitous praise.

Now that our thirst for the Sith Lord has been slated, I was wondering about the next logical step. Although I ask this of SithlordII, anyone who can accomplish it is welcome to.

I think it would be the height of groovy if we could play as Vader in the single player game. I dont care if he sounds like Kyle or not. I just want to run around as a 3rd person Vader.

At least till the Boba/Jango Fett model is released then I will be swapping files based on my mood. Mandalorian or Sith.:fett::vadar:

Thanks in advance...

or.. you could jsut take the file folder out of the pk3.. and rename it :) and the sound file HAR HAR HAR and hte shader too, i think he should hold off and make a pack.. a imperal force conversion.. so reb troops are stromies and maybe the empore or just a imperal officer as monnymymm..er mon mothma..

1 ohhh and wheres that saber handle :c3po:

i have made a desann replacement and uploaded it here to jk2.net

i will think about making up a vader model to replace kyle, but IMO right now its kinda pointless, you'd just see his back anyways...... now if it were for a mod or a different level where you are fighting rebels, or light jedi... now that would be worthwhile...

I usually do not post here, but I have been keeping track of the Vader Model and the Emperor's Guard model that is being worked on. I downloaded a conversion/mod for JKII that changed all of the characters. It replaced Kyle with Desann and Jan with Tavion and the Stormtroopers with Rebel Guards etc........ it was really neat to play. But, it still went along with the story line.......it was kinda funny to watch Desann and Tavion in the ship at the beginning though.. Anyways.....I just wanted to reply and tell SithLord about the download. I believe it is at http://jk2ed.jediknightii.net/files/index.php?category=2

It is the Imperial Vs Rebel conversion download.

First I would like to say big thanks to Sithlord II for such an outstanding model of Vader. That's what makes JKII JO so great with all the mod additions to the game.

I believe I read in an earlier thread that Sithlord II mentioning that he uploaded files for the Vader Model to JediKnightII.net that would replace Desann in SP mode. However, I suspect that the great ppl at JediKnight II.net may have mistaken it for the previous mods (Update#1 and Update#2) that are used in MP rather than SP.

Hey JKII.net can you take a look and see iffin you got the SP Vader Mod that replaces Desann and post it for downloading. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the MP side of botting with Vader, but I prefer SP.

Keep up the great work out there modders, JKII Outcast rocks!!!!

Thanks...

It's very easy to convert sithys model to SP (as Desann or even Kyle)

Step 1: Rename the file (I'll call it vader.pk3 just to make things easier) to vader.pk3.zip and extract all the files. I think there are 5 folders inside it, but you only need to work with 2.

Step 2: Open up the models dir, go into players, then rename the folder vader to desann (or kyle if you want to play as Vader in SP)

Step 3: Do the same with the Sounds dir.

Step 4: Re-zip all the files (saw to folder vader_sp.pk3.zip) and then rename the file to vader_sp.pk3

Hope this helps

D.L.

I did exactly what you said to do in the above thread in the following steps:

Step 1: I renamed the file to vader.pk3.zip. This changed the icon from a pk3 type to Winzip icon. I extracted the files using Winzip.

Step 2: There were 5 folders as you mentioned. I opened the model folder and found the vader folder. I renamed it to desann.

Step 3: I opened the sound folder and found the vader folder. I renamed it also to desann.

Step 4: I re-zipped all the files as to folder vader_sp.pk3.zip. The files zipped up.

Step 5: I renamed the file back to vader_sp.pk3. The icon changed back from a Winzip icon back to a pk3 type icon.

Step 6: I moved the vader_sp.pk3 file to the base folder in Jedi Knight directory as where the vader.pk3 file is also located.

Step 7: I fired up JKII:JO and started a new game. I enabled cheats and typed npc spawn desann. I got desann, not vader. I also typed npc spawn vader and vader_sp but the window said in red letters file not found.

OK, what did I do wrong?

Any help sincerely appreciated. Thanks...

did you check the box in winzip to zip with the full path? also, when i tried making a new zip file, i had to move the vader directories to my root directory and then make a new zip file in the root dir of my hard drive for it to work.

Now see...I like fighting Vader without all those fancy force powers...I like push. That's about it, when I'm fighting a computer. I just spawn him in place of the reborn...but he's so TINY! I tried to increase the size in the npcs.cfg file, but that didn't work. Any suggestions?

In the My Computer window, do the following

Go to Tools ---> Folder Options then the View tab, then uncheck the Hide extensions for known file types box

It's the 8th line down

Now just rename the zip file (which should be filename.zip) to filename.pk3

No probs, mate. Glad it worked for you though I found Vader to be an easier boss than Desann. *shrugs*
